Aino Räsänen, born in 1994, started playing the violin at the age of five in the East Helsinki Music Institute. At fifteen she switched to viola and in 2013 started studying in Sibelius Academy with teachers Lilli Maijala and Pirkko Simojoki. As an exchange student she has studied in Germany on the classes of professors Hariolf Schlichtig and Pauline Sachse. She has attended to the “Encuentro de Santander” festival in Spain twice, playing chamber music with for example Ivan Monighetti, Zakhar Bron, Alexander Rudin and Timothy Jones. On masterclasses her teachers have been Nobuko Imai, Tabea Zimmermann, Lars Anders Tomter, Hartmut Rohde, Barbara Buntrock, Isabel Charisius, Erich Krüger and Tommi Aalto. At January 2020 she started working as a member of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. She also has studied baroque viola with Minna Kangas as a side instrument and on season 2019-2020 she has performed every Mozart String quintet with gut strings under guidance of violinist Erich Höbarth.
